We had to be at the hospital by 8:00 a.m. this morning. Lee was admitted to the hospital and was given chemotherapy today. Day 0 is transplant day. The days ahead will prove to be difficult as Lee's body responds to treatment. Tomorrow he will receive total body radiation. Two times per day for 3 days. It's side effects are like chemo in nature.
Today Lee was then given a pass and we went for a 3 mile walk. We discovered that there are miles and miles of walking/biking paths. We are determined to discover them all as we walk for mental and physical health. Lee has to be back to the hospital by 9:00 p.m. His stay in the hospital wills be about 7 - 10 days and then whenever his situation dictates.
We have taken a big gulp and are determined to fight.
