OUR 3RD LONG DAY

We spent the majority of the day in the transplant center learning the results of all the tests. The good news is Lee is perfectly healthy except for one thing, he has bone cancer! The cancer is alive and healthy much to our dismay. The PET scan showed that the cancer has spread throughout his skeleton, with one section starting to spread outside of that in the spinal collum.
Bone marrow showed to be 60% plasma, normal is 7%.

While this is disheartening, we are blessed to be here and to qualify for this bone marrow transplant. It is scary, and risky but we have great faith in prayer and feel we are being blessed.

Treatments will begin once Cynthia has donated her bone marrow. That will include a 2 week stay in the hospital having radiation and then chemo. Most of the process is outpatient, unless complications dictate.

We are trying to take this one day at a time, this has been a good day. We are doing well and finding time to read, take walks and visit.

Amelia and Mariah are doing well with Aubrey and David. They are already making new friends and having fun. James is holding down the fort at home. We miss them all. But we are grateful that Robert and Chalece are close.
